A house isn’t a home if it is bare. Now whether it be your summer Hamptons getaway or your NYC loft, it’s important to take advantage of a beautiful clean space and well… make it your own! Decorating a home is a personal task and can become overwhelming quickly when budgeting and picking out decor comes into the picture. This is when the name Amy Kalikow will soon matter to you!
“a former ad agency account executive, delivering a creative project on budget is second nature”.
Bringing credibility and style to the table, Amy makes it hard to resist revamping your whole space with some of her work. With her work ranging from Manhattan to the Hamptons, simplifying your design process while staying ahead of the trends is what Amy is here for.
Amy’s Water Mill I residence blew me away at first glance. When I think Hampton’s this is the type of interior design that brings that wow factor many expect from such a beautiful location.
This first living room is spacious and with a space so large it’s hard to keep the balance between filling up space while keeping the area open. A room so big is so easy to feel bare, but with the vibrant red accents mixing with the simple white couches and furniture, the room feels put together with elegance but all the while you still can relax and feel at home. A stunning room and photo all in all.
This is another beautiful shot of the living room from Amy’s Water Mill project. Being the Hamptons is such a beautiful summer location keeping an almost all white theme brightens the room and makes the beautiful natural lighting stand out that much more. Again you can see in the picture the subtle hint of red in the artwork but what sets this picture apart is that its hard to find in an interior designer that pays attention to details, and Amy does just that. The white flowers that compliment the modern coffee table, the throw blanket, the ottoman: these are what turn the house into a home.
“Knowing where to spend money and where to cut back while still creating an impact allows her to marry livability + suitability with beauty.”
Amy is well-versed enough with the trends to know what items are worth spending more on for the home and what items can be cut back on. Practicality while still making a vision come to life for the homeowner.
This patio image from Water Mill I instantly caught my eye. With each room every piece of furniture meshes together and this case is no different. The modern center table surrounded by the modern-rustic deck seating make for a balance between trendy and nature. The wooden tray resting on the table in the middle ties the whole thing together.
More than anything, the art of interior design is personal nonetheless, so it is vital to encapture the capability to listen closely while still taking control as an interior designer, and Amy does just that. Just viewing her Instagram, her customers are always pleased and her followers are always impressed! Whether it comments on her taste in light fixtures to one of a kind furniture, all who interact on Amy’s social media are inspired and impressed, easily making her a popular influencer.
“Understanding the client; where the goal is always excellent design that is built on how you want to live.”
Another heartwarming quote from Amy’s profile representing the care and specific attention she gives to her clients when designing a space.
A dining room like you have never seen before, this picture from Water Mill I soon became one of my favorites. The beautiful big window gives so much opportunity for great lighting but for when the sun goes down, Amy didn’t fail to yet again find a breathtaking light fixture. The chandler immediately draws your eye, and to pair with this modern piece the unique light wooden chairs and round table balance the room making it both modern yet rustic. Keeping it simple, again Amy puts in that detail and adds the beautiful and simple plant centerpiece, nothing too overpowering but just enough to compliment the space.
