New York based Vanessa Rome an award winning interior designer, entrepreneur show us her passion for design. Vanessa owns an outstanding interior design studio based in Manhattan delivering bespoke, timeless and classic designs to her clients.
Vanessa graduated from New York University with a BA and a Masters and it was from here that she went on to start her career within the film industry in Los Angeles. Being surrounded by film sets and set designers is where her interest for interior design started to turn into a passion. Vanessa would browse through independent stores and flea markets on the hunt for interesting homeware pieces and furniture which could bring a space to life and set the scene.
Whilst building a summer home in Sag Harbor, Vanessa experienced some difficulty with builders and contractors being able to finish the build of her family property. This is when Vanessa took hold of the reins, learnt the ins and outs of design and building and completed her dream home in time for the summer season. Vanessa was able to understand not only how to create a layout, design rooms and utilize space but also how important it is to have a close relationship with the designer and a client. This is when she decided to start her very own interior design studio.
Vanessa Rome Interiors was established in 2013 and brought a fresh, clean and unique flair to the interior design industry in NYC. Working closely alongside clientele within the Hamptons and Manhattan, Vanessa and her growing team provide luxury home design and expertise at each step of the design process. VRI sources pieces from local businesses and boutiques all around the world taking inspiration from Instagram, traveling and personal style and preferences. One key thing the studio looks for is great lighting and light fixtures to really ‘make a room’. Vanessa and her team love to design visually interesting spaces which are functional, practical and tailored to each client. She has designed stunning homes in the Hamptons and Manhattan.
The signature design aesthetic that Vanessa is known for is a mixture of vintage and modern style, neutral tones with a splash of color, luxury materials, textured fabrics and hand-crafted products. Vanessa also enjoys using calming color palettes to create an environment that her clients can use to relax and enjoy. She loves to gather inspiration from blogs and interior magazines to bring visions into a reality. Vanessa likes to begin with a statement piece that her client is obsessed with (this could be a painting, a piece of furniture or a fabric) and work her designs around this. Vanessa has a great relationship with her clients and works with them closely from initial brief ideas to a finished timeless project.
